Botanical Printmaking Workshop

Eco Tours Tasmania and Professional Botanical Artist – Printmaker Deborah Wace offer One Day Botanical Printmaking Workshops.

You will be collected by Eco Tours Tasmania from convenient locations around Hobart and transported to a bush location
where Eco Tours Tasmania’s Professional Guide will conduct small group walks through the surrounding bush area, interpreting
and describing the plants, animals and natural features of the area.

We will then drive to Redlands Whisky Distillery at Kempton where we will enjoy lunch (included in the tour price). Here Deborah will have her Portable Print Studio set up and conduct the Printmaking Workshop, utilising much of the plant material we have collected.

We will explore the printmaking potential of natural objects i.e. leaves, ferns, bark and petals and also create freely from our
observations of the natural world. We will study plants and flowers under magnification and create some original art works for
you to take home with you.

“Drawing from my own arts practice as a botanical artist, I look for the meeting between art and science, I can provide
a small Herbarium of pressed plant, fungi and lichen for the class to use, plus what we are allowed to collect on our walks.
I will also show the Drypoint Plates I create to achieve the highly detailed Drypoint Prints of Tasmanian Native Orchids, root
to flower which I use to produce my own artwork.” – Deborah Wace

Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea will be provided.
Max 10 people, Group Bookings Welcome. Minimum of 6 people required to run the tour.
